Note that seminaries serve as the ideological backbone of the Iranian regime. They train the clerics, judges, and officials who enforce the regime's absolute rule and justify its crackdowns.
All the institutions that were targeted by protesters in self-defense against the armed assault of Khamenei’s suppressive IRGC forces were, in fact, serving the regime’s exploitation of the Iranian people.
These entities are fundamentally affiliated with the IRGC, which, along with Khamenei’s so-called foundations, controls about 95 percent of Iran’s economy and the nation’s wealth.
This immense power is used to fund the regime’s corrupt and terrorist objectives, interference in other countries, and, of course, to enrich Khamenei’s inner circle through systematic theft and personal profiteering.

nstitute for the Study of War Report on Iran:
Iranian officials have leaked damaging details to Western media, pointing to possible internal dissent over the regime’s brutality.
On January 9 Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei ordered the Supreme National Security Council to crush the protests by any means necessary, instructing security forces to shoot to kill and show no mercy. Two officials briefed on the directive confirmed the order. The response was reportedly coordinated by Ali Larijani, the SNSC secretary, who was later sanctioned by the US Treasury on January 15 for his role.
Death toll estimates are severe. Two senior Iranian officials told TIME on January 25 that roughly 30,000 people may have been killed on January 8 and 9 alone. Other regime linked leaks point to similarly high figures, while opposition and human rights groups estimate deaths in the thousands to tens of thousands, describing the crackdown as unprecedented in scale.
Warnings are now coming from voices close to the system itself. Regime aligned analyst Mostafa Najafi wrote on January 24 that the protests represent one of the most alarming incidents of the past century, calling it a deepening crisis and part of an escalating pattern following unrest in 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2025. He cited accumulated unanswered demands, condensed public anger, and eroding trust caused by the regime’s refusal to offer concessions.
The internet blackout remains in place. International access has not been restored since January 8, a move widely seen as aimed at blocking coordination and concealing the scale of the violence. NetBlocks reported on January 25 that the shutdown had exceeded 400 hours, about 17 days, with only brief connectivity spikes and limited whitelisted services.
Internal debate is growing. Some factions fear restoring access could reignite protests, while others warn that the economic damage from the blackout could fuel further unrest. IRGC affiliated outlets sent mixed signals. Tasnim claimed restoration by January 24, a report denied by the ICT Ministry, then later criticized economic arguments for reopening, arguing security must come first.

They have to turn the internet back on to save their economy but when they do the insurgency will gain more support.

There are some extremely serious developments this month that have understandably gone underreported because of the ongoing massacre.
• The currency has now crashed to 1,622,500 per USD as of this evening. It even dropped heavily since this morning (1,590,000).
• The regime is printing QUADRILLIONS of rials for their failing banks. Surely nothing can go wrong here.
• Everything is getting even more expensive than last month, which already was unbearable for everyone.
• Small business owners are going bankrupt because of weeks of blackout. Countless Iranians rely on Instagram and social media to sell products and services. The amount of people who weren't murdered by the regime yet lost their entire livelihoods this month is astonishing. People have less than nothing.
• Per Iranian tradition, 40 days after someone dies, there will be large crowds gathering for a memorial services. This means that February will see absolutely enormous crowds, especially on the 40th day after 8th and 9th of January, whether the regime wants it or not. There will be national fury. And regardless of whether Trump attacks or not, expect the revolution to reignite.
Pay close attention to the undercurrents.
