Spain is giving Patriot missiles to Ukraine — despite shortages for itself.
The Spanish government believes that the war with Iran, initiated by the United States and Israel, is not Europe’s war. On the contrary, Madrid is convinced that the future of European countries is being decided in the war in Ukraine. Therefore, in order to at least partially ease Kyiv’s critical shortage of air defense systems, Spain has secretly donated five Patriot missiles to Ukraine, El País reports.
▫️The missiles in question are Patriot PAC-2, currently in service with the Spanish Army’s Air Defense Artillery Regiment based in Marines (Valencia). Although they are not the most modern missiles, their cost ranges from $3 to $4 million per unit. However, the real problem today is not money, but the inability of the main manufacturer, the American company Raytheon, to meet the rapidly growing demand. For example, the delivery of four Patriot batteries in the 3+ configuration, ordered by Spain for nearly €1.5 billion, has been repeatedly delayed and is now pushed back to 2031. This makes them an extremely scarce resource, including within Spain’s own military arsenals. That is why Sánchez’s gift to Zelensky carries even greater significance, the Spanish publication notes.

Controversy over 425th Regiment Tactics : A dispute has emerged regarding an alleged "meat assault" near Pokrovsk. High-profile commentator Sergey Sternenko accused the 425th Scala Regiment of poor planning that led to unnecessary losses. The unit has pushed back, labeling the claims as based on cherry-picked Russian propaganda and stating they are conducting an official internal investigation.
Ukrainian Deep Strikes: Ukraine successfully targeted the Kirovskoe airfield in Crimea, destroying four heavy Orion drones, an AN-72P aircraft, and a radar system using long-range munitions.
Russian Aircraft Losses : Reports indicate that two Russian aircraft, a Su-34 bomber and an An-26 transport, were lost in separate incidents. While there was initial speculation about Ukrainian involvement, evidence currently points toward technical malfunctions.
Impact on Russian Oil Exports : Repeated Ukrainian drone strikes on the Ust-Luga and Primorsk oil terminals have significantly hampered Russian exports. Between March 23rd and 29th, Baltic oil shipments fell by 43%, marking a significant economic impact on Russia's ability to finance its war efforts.
Fundraiser Updates : The channel successfully completed a fundraiser for Lightning (Bliskavka) drones, raising over $53,000, and confirmed the delivery of a vehicle to medics in the 3rd Assault Brigade.

Historic decision: Moldova officially exits the CIS

The Moldovan Parliament has approved, by a majority vote, a bill for the country’s exit from the CIS. The communists and socialists opposed the decision.

The bill will now be sent to President Maia Sandu for signing.

The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is a group of former Soviet republics created after the Soviet Union dissolved in 1991, aimed at promoting cooperation in various areas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova clarifies that some CIS agreements beneficial to the economy or citizens will remain in force, but only if they do not contradict the country’s European path.

Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed disagreement with this approach.
